Revolution midfielder Zachary Herivaux was loaned to the USL’s San Antonio FC on Wednesday in the hopes of giving the Homegrown Player meaningful minutes.

Revolutionsoccer.net’s Jeff Lemieux confirmed the loan via Twitter on Wednesday. The length of the spell was not given.

The 21-year-old midfielder has yet to make the gameday 18 for the Revolution this season. Since signing a Homegrown Player deal with the club in May 2015, Herivaux has only played in five league matches, and accumulated only 38 minutes of action.

Herivaux joined San Antonio ahead of its match on Saturday at Vancouver Whitecaps 2. He is the third Revolution player to be loaned to a USL squad this season, a contingent that includes third-string goalkeeper Matt Turner (Richmond Kickers) and rookie forward Brian Wright (Tulsa Roughnecks).

San Antonio FC is the USL affiliate of New York City FC.
