That Time the Revs Donned the Most ‘Merica Jersey in MLS

Twenty years ago, the Revolution unveiled a look that was a show-stopper even by mid-1990s fashion standards.

For a handful of summertime matches in 1997, the locals donned what some called “the star-spangled” shirt, which featured, well, stars and stripes as rendered by the marketing department at Reebok, the club’s official jersey manufacturer.

Although the Revolution actually played at LA on Jul. 4, 1997, they returned home to face the Wiz in time to showcase the most ‘Merica jersey ever seen in MLS.  So with the Fourth upon us, check out the kit in action, courtesy of NESoccerToday photographer Chris Aduama.
