BC Duo Called at NWSL Draft

Boston College products Kristie Mewis and Vicki DiMartino had their names called at Friday’s inaugural National Women’s Soccer League college draft.
Mewis was taken in the first round (third overall) by FC Kansas City while DiMartino went to the Western New York Flash in the third round (22nd overall).
Mewis is the all-time leader in points (116 career points), goals (39 career goals) and second in assists (39 career assists) at Boston College. She was the first player in the BC women’s soccer history to surpass the 100 point mark.
DiMartino scored two goals and added two assists in 22 games for the Eagles in 2012. She was also named to the 2010 All-America & All-ACC Teams for the College Cup.
Both were on the New England Mutiny roster in 2012.
