PDL: Rams Win in Finale

A trio of goalscorers stepped up to give the Real Boston Rams a 3-1 win over CFC Azul in Saturday’s season finale at Muscato Stadium.

Ali Sozeri opened the scoring in the 19th minute, while Jack Hilger and Cole DeNormandie also found the back of the in the 24th and 36th minutes, respectively. Paul Templeton scored a consolation goal for the guests in the 70th minute.

The hosts went up early when Sozeri blasted a shot from 30 yards to put an early exclamation point on the match.

Five minutes later, Hilger scored his debut goal when he grabbed a pass from Paul Latif and slotted it through to make it a two-goal game.

DeNormandie joined the first half goal parade in the 36th minute when he converted a pass from Hilger inside the area.

The Azul’s only response didn’t come until late, when Templeton scored from the spot after Anthony Bauman was found guilty of a handball inside the 18.

With the win, the Rams close out their season at 4-8-2 (14 points), and overtook fifth place from the Azul, who finished the season at 2-6-6 (12 points).
