PDL: Phoenix Fall to Fury in Divisional Match

Carl Haworth’s hat trick helped the Ottawa Fury overwhelm GPS Portland Phoenix in a comprehensive 6-0 Divisional Playoff win on Tuesday at Algonquin College Soccer Complex.
Haworth struck in the 11th, 50th and 55th minutes, while Carlo Basso tallied twice, with goals in the 81st and 90+1 minute. Basso also assisted on an Eddie Jones score in the 89th minute.
Former Revolution and Real Boston midfielder Andrew Sousa started for the Fury, and went 66 minutes before coming off for Jonathan Barden.
Phoenix keeper Adam Perron faced an eye-popping 19 shots on the evening.
With the win, the Fury advanced to the Eastern Conference semifinals, where they will meet Reading United on Saturday in Ocean City, Md.
