- Updated: March 22, 2016
Southie FC will face Mid-Atlantic Showcase Soccer League side Trenton Rebels in the National Amateur Cup quarterfinals in Trenton, N.J. during the weekend of Apr. 16-17 after a revised Region 1 bracket was revealed by the USASA on Sunday.
The date, start time, and location of the Southie-Trenton quarterfinal clash will be announced at a later date.
The other quarterfinal involving sides from the region will pit New Hampshire’s Manzonilla against the winner of the Apr. 3 play-in match between Lansdowne Bhoys (N.Y.) and Newtown Pride (Ct.). The Apr. 3 Lansdowne-Newtown clash will kickoff at 4:00pm at Falcon Field in Meridian, Ct.
Southie, Manzonilla, and Newtown Pride are all vying to become the first New England club to win the Amateur Cup title since Battery Park Gunners accomplished the feat in 2012.
Southie recently competed in a scrimmage against the Providence College men’s soccer team in preparation for their upcoming Massachusetts State Soccer League season. The Boys in Neon will also be competing in the U.S. Open Cup tournament, which kicks off on May 11 with Round 1 action.
