USASA: Southie Bounces Back from USOC Defeat
- Updated: May 23, 2016
Three days after their U.S. Open Cup dreams were dashed by the defending USL champions in Rochester, N.Y., Boston-based amateur side Southie FC overcame two deficits to grab a 4-3 win over Cambridge Arsenal in Bay State Soccer League (BSSL) play on Saturday.
Tim Ritter, Sean Bakhtiari, Joe Corsello and CJ Stoker all struck for the Boys in Neon, whose win put them within one point of Taunton Eagles for the top spot on the division two table.
Southie fell into an early two-goal deficit on a brace from Jeremy Waight, then a late 3-2 ditch before Corsello and Stoker brought the squad back before the final whistle.
Southie will resume league play on Jun. 11 against Sports Identity FC.
