Rapinoe Leads U.S. Over Colombia

The U.S. Women’s National Team claimed a 3-0 Group G win over Colombia at Hamdpen Park in Glasgow with Megan Rapinoe leading the way with a goal and an assist.
Rapinoe scored her first Olympic goal in the 33rd minute while Abby Wambach and Carli Lloyd put the game out of reach with strikes in the 74th and 77th minutes, respectively. Rapinoe also assisted on Lloyd’s strike. U.S. goalkeeper Hope Solo was forced to make one save to earn the clean sheet.
With the win, the U.S. retains sole possession of first place in Group G. They return to action on Jul. 31 Korea DPR at Old Trafford. Kickoff is set for 12:15pm ET.
