USOC Mass. State Final Set for 12/8

East Providence Sports and Mass Premier Soccer will face off in the Massachusetts U.S. Open Cup state final on Saturday, Dec. 8 at Madison Park High School in Boston. Kickoff is set for 1pm.

East Providence earned a berth after edging Battery Park Gunners 4-3 in the state semifinal on Nov. 16. Mass Premier secured its spot following an 8-1 seminal thrashing of Strela Negra on Nov. 17.

The state final marks the rematch of last year’s Round 1 Massachusetts state tournament duel, which saw East Providence and Mass Premier go to penalties before Mass Premier came out on top.

The winner of the state final will move on to the USASA Region 1 tournament, which will likely be held in spring 2013.
