Rowe Picks Up POTW Honors

Kelyn Rowe’s two-goal performance in Sunday’s 5-1 rout of the Union was good enough to garner his first career Player of the Week Award.

The sophomore midfielder tallied from 25 yards in the 26th minute, then followed up with 30-yard blast in the 65th minute. The latter effort was nominated by mlssoccer.com as a Goal of the Week candidate.

Rowe’s brace eclipsed his goal total from last year, which saw him score three goals in his rookie campaign. His five goals on the season is good for third-best on the Revolution, behind Juan Agudelo (6) and Diego Fagundez (8).

Rowe is the second Revolution player to earned Player of the Week honors this season. Diego Fagundez picked up the award in Week 14 for a two-goal, one-assist effort in a 5-0 win over the Galaxy on Jun. 2.

Agudelo picked up Player of the Week honors in April, but as a member of Chivas USA.
