Revs Add Veterans Hall, Bowen

After clearing a large swath of roster space last week, the Revolution made moves for a pair of veterans on Thursday by selecting Tristan Bowen in Stage 2 of the Re-Entry Draft and acquiring Jeremy Hall from Toronto for a 2015 fourth-round pick.

Bowen was selected in the first round of the Re-Entry Draft after spending last season with the Seattle Sounders. The veteran forward, who can also play on the right side of the midfield, saw scant playing time in 2014 (2 games, 0 starts) after a career year (22 games, 2 goals, 2 assists) in 2013.

The 23-year-old earned $70,000 last season, according the Players Union. The Revoluton have a limited timeframe to negotiate a new deal with Bowen, who will not be added to the roster unless an agreement is reached.

Another player whose playing time was limited last season was Hall, who only made three league appearances for Toronto in 2014. He played in 115 games for Toronto, Dallas, Portland and New York over the course of his six-year career. Like Bowen, Hall’s best season came in 2013, when he played in 31 games for the Reds, scoring a goal and adding an assist.

With Hall officially on board, the Revolution roster is now at 21, with A.J. Soares, who reportedly inked a deal with Italian side Hellas Verona earlier this week, and Teal Bunbury both unsigned.

As for Andre Akpan, Shalrie Joseph, and Stephen McCarthy, all of whom were made available during the Re-Entry Draft, all three went unselected. As such, they are are now available to any MLS team on a first come, first serve basis.
