Minutes continue to dwindle for Diego Fagundez during Uruguay’s South American Youth Championship run as he was kept on the bench during Sunday’s 2-0 hexagonal win over Paraguay.

The 19-year-old midfielder was among the available substitutes, but did not see action for the third time during the squad’s tournament run. Fagundez came on as an 89th minute substitute in La Celeste’s 3-1 win over Peru on Thursday.

Fagundez has seen 147 minutes action over four matches (two starts, two substitute appearances) for Fabio Coito’s squad. Fagundez has only collected a total of 82 minutes over Uruguay’s last six games.

Uruguay returns to action on Wednesday against Colombia. Fagundez played 65 minutes against Colombia in Uruguay’s 1-0 tournament opening victory.
