It wasn’t the kind of holiday weekend the Revolution U-16s envisioned at the Generation adidas Cup tournament after they were unable to taste victory during the three-match showcase in Toronto.

The U-16s finished at the bottom of the East group with a 0-2-1 mark.

After a promising start which saw Gabriel Meireles and Justin Rennicks score early against DC United, the Revs were unable to stay ahead. DC pulled two back, and the 2-2 match eventually went to penalties, where the Black-and-Red prevailed 4-3 on Friday

On Saturday, Calvin Aroh closed the gap to make it 2-1 in the first half against the Red Bulls, but the Garden State side scored a trio of unanswered tallies to hand the Revs a 5-1 defeat.

The Columbus Day group stage finale pitted the Revs against Orlando City, a game in which Laszlo Dorogi gave the locals the early lead. But the Lions responded twice to send the Revs to a 2-1 loss.

The tournament will resume in Feb. 2016, with the Revs playing for the consolation Premier Division title after they were unable to secure a top-2 finish in the East group.

The Revs U-16s return to U.S. Soccer Development Academy action on Sunday against Empire United.
