Revolution midfielder Zachary Herivaux is headed overseas to train with the local outfit’s Portuguese Liga affiliate Sporting CP according to a report from The Bent Musket.

The report cites an Instagram post from a former Revolution Academy teammate, who wished the 19-year-old Homegrown Player well in Portugal.

Nice to see my brother at training tonight. Best of luck in Portugal next week! #NERevs ????

Herivaux, who became the Revolution’s third Homegrown signing in May, saw scant action with the first team in 2015. His lone appearance came in the waning minutes of 1-0 U.S. Open Cup loss to Charlotte Independence on Jun. 17.

Meanwhile, if Herivaux is en route to train with Sporting, it would mark the first visible development between the Revolution and Sporting since the announcement of their affiliation agreement in Oct. 2014.

Earlier this year, Revolution general manager Michael Burns and assistant coach Tom Soehn paid a visit to the Portuguese club to discuss a loan for Leoes winger Heldon Ramos. But the meeting proved unproductive, as Heldon subsequently accepted a loan to La Liga side Cordoba FC.
