The Memorial Day fireworks were in full effect early on at Central Connecticut State University on Saturday as Hartford City FC and Kingston Stockade FC supplied plenty of offense before halftime in a 2-2 draw in New Britain, Ct.
The guests kicked off the scoring in the 12th minute on an Eric Fortier effort before the home crowd was rewarded with a brace from Luke Alvaro, who scored in the 36th and 37th minutes. But the lead didn’t last long as Kingston scored the equalizer from Victor Guirma in the 45th minute.
With Saturday’s draw in the books, Hartford City improves to eight points (2-0-2), good for a share of first place in the Atlantic White Conference with Boston City FC.
Stockade made it seven points on the season with a 2-1-1 mark.
The Connecticut selection will see the field on Saturday, Jun. 3 when they face Seacoast United Mariners at Fitzpatrick Stadium in Portland, Me. Kickoff is 2:00pm.
